Impact San Antonio’s objective is to make a substantial impact on our local
community through our grant recipients. Therefore, Impact San Antonio will make a large
grants instead of many smaller grants. Additionally, our grants will go to fund
specific projects that directly serve the community. As individuals, we may not
ever have the opportunity to give on a large scale, but together we are able to
significantly impact our San Antonio community.

Our Mission
Impact San Antonio is committed to empowering women and improving the community through effective philanthropy.

Women as Donors

Impact San Antonio is a giving circle; individual members contribute $1,000 a year and leverage it into a large grant for the community.  Modeled after similar groups in Cincinnati, Austin and Pensacola, Impact San Antonio’s goal is to recruit a minimum of 100 members who each donate $1,000 a year and pool that money to make an annual grant of at least $100,000 to a worthy San Antonio Area non-profit organization.  Once we reach 200 members, we will make two grants of $100,000 each.  Our eventual goal is to attain a membership level of 500 individuals and to award grants in each of our five focus areas.   If unable to join as a member, individuals are invited to join as a Friend of Impact San Antonio for $250.  These funds help support the administrative needs of the organization.

What makes Impact San Antonio unique is the "one member, one vote" approach to deciding where to place our grant funds.   By leveraging financial resources with other women, each individual feels their personal contribution goes further than if they had placed the funds independently.

Women as Decision Makers
Impact San Antonio encourages women to become better-informed philanthropists.  By serving on a grant committee, members learn more about community needs and the nonprofit programs to improve the community.  The Five Areas of Focus are listed below:

•        Culture
•        Education
•        Environment
•        Family
•        Health & Wellness

An Impact San Antonio member will chair each focus area.  Each grant committee will evaluate proposals from nonprofit agencies in the San Antonio area. After research, site visits and other necessary due diligence, each committee will narrow their choice to one deserving finalist. Women who do not have the time or opportunity to participate in Impact San Antonio’s committee process can still be involved by voting in the final selection process at the annual meeting.

By empowering women as the decision-makers and allowing them to see the
positive impact their collective efforts have on local needs, Impact San Antonio
hopes to inspire a lifelong passion for philanthropy.
