General Requirements

      Nonprofit organization must have 501(c)(3) status.  Programs having provisional 501(c)(3) status, or programs having a different 501(c)(3) as a fiscal agent are not eligible. 
     
Preference will be given to programs serving citizens of Bexar County, San Antonio, TX.
       
Organizations serving citizens of the following counties may also apply: Atascosa, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina, and Wilson. 
      
Organizations must expend all funds in their counties of operation.
•       
Organizations must expend all funds within 24 months of grant award. 
      
Organizations may apply only under one focus area; it is the organization's responsibility to select the "focus area", not Impact San Antonio.         
      
Organizations may submit only one grant application each calendar year. 

In reviewing grant requests, Impact San Antonio members will consider the following factors:

Strength of organization from a management, staff, and board perspective

Project's benefit to the community and fit with mission

Uniqueness of project

Ability of organization to complete the project

Financial strength of organization and soundness of project budget

Financial support for project from other funders

Must I use the Impact San Antonio grant application?

Grantseekers must use the Impact San Antonio grant application.  It can be downloaded from the website www.impactsanantonio.org.

Must an organization serve only women to qualify for funding from Impact San Antonio?

No, Impact San Antonio will fund any 501(c)(3) meeting its funding criteria.

Can the Impact San Antonio grant be the sole supporter of a project?

If $100,000 covers the full cost of the project, a nonprofit organization can apply to Impact San Antonio for the full amount.

14 Will all applicants receive a site visit?  Each grant committee will review all grants in its Area of Focus.  Finalists in each category will be contacted for a site visit by the commitee.

How long will a nonprofit organization have to complete the work?

After funds are received, the nonprofit organization will have 24 months to expend the project funds.

Must an organization have a financial audit to apply for funding?

 

It is preferred that a nonprofit organization have a financial audit for the last two years.  If one is not available, financial statements for the last two years must be submitted.

When will the project grant be awarded?

The project grant will be awarded at the Annual Grants meeting on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Jump Start Performance Company.

When will the nonprofit organization receive the project funds?

The nonprofit organization will receive the project grant in November, 2008.
