May 15 is Impact San Antonio’s 2023 membership deadline, and we are in the home stretch in our goal of reaching 500+ memberships to enable us to award five $100,000 grants to deserving projects. This is why I wanted to share my Impact Story.
As you know, Impact San Antonio is a women’s collective giving organization that empowers its members by pooling our funds together to provide substantial grants to nonprofit organizations in the Greater San Antonio area. We are a diverse group of women serving together as catalysts to transform lives in our community. We also create meaningful connections for our members, the non-profits in our community and the people they serve.
When I first joined Impact San Antonio, I chose to serve on a grant review committee as a way to give back to the community. What I didn’t realize was how much I would learn about our vibrant community, the needs it faces, and the amazing agencies working hard to address those needs. I also didn’t know how many wonderful people I would meet – both Impact members and agency leaders – and the enormous impact they would make on my life.
Being a member of Impact San Antonio has allowed this transplant to learn about the history, passion and culture of so many areas of our community. It has taught me that every agency starts over each year and has to work feverishly to raise the funds they need to be able to support those in need. It has helped me see that by working with others, I can make a significant Impact in the community. And it has reinforced my belief in the power of caring for others.
So, as we make this final drive to reach 500+ memberships, I encourage those of you who have already joined or renewed to share your Impact Story with others. And if you have not yet joined as a member, now is the perfect time to join us in making an Impact!
