Christina Randell took a few years to join Impact San Antonio after she first heard about it. But when she did, she did it with enthusiasm, including becoming a Bronze-level sponsor. She joined in 2022 and is a shared member with Meisie Beauvais. Here is what she thinks about our organization.
How and when did you first year about Impact San Antonio?
My close friend, Allison DePaoli, who was in the original 25 founders’ group, shared Impact SA with me for several years before I joined. I am glad for her persistence because when I was ready for something new in my life, Impact SA was there.
Why did you join?
My first year was 2022, as a member to get my feet wet and learn more about the organization and its members. I really enjoyed everyone that I met, and the mission to help others really resonated with me. In 2023, I decided to become a sponsor and lead by example.
What inspires/impresses you about Impact SA?
I was very impressed with the concept of a women’s collective grant-making organization helping women participate in local philanthropy and have a say in how that donated money is spent to aid those in the community. San Antonio has a high poverty rate, so the needs can feel overwhelming. By joining together with many other concerned women, we can have a much greater impact than we can alone. In addition to helping others, the social aspect of meeting new friends and learning from others with a similar heart to serve is a truly wonderful experience.
Why did you decide to become a sponsor?
During the 2022 Grant Award Night, I brought my human resources manager, Andrea Davis, as my guest so she could experience what was happening at Impact SA. She fell in love with the mission of the organization as well. The core values of my company, My Education Solutions, are excellence, teamwork, community and growth, so our company values align with the mission of Impact SA.
What do you do for a living?
Eight years ago, I founded My Education Solutions, a student loan management firm based in San Antonio. MES clients have had $22,913,675 already saved through the government student loan forgiveness programs. Our mission is to assist individuals seeking to outsource the stress and confusion of their student loan debt to our knowledgeable and experienced student loan advisers. Many people contact us free of charge to ask questions and find out if they are eligible for loan forgiveness. There is a lot of misinformation, and people are seeking answers from a trusted source. If a client outsources their student loan program to us, we will get them approved and manage their program. As of June 20, there have been 263 MES clients who have completed their forgiveness program with an average monthly savings of 80 percent and total savings of $87,124 per person of their total debt.
