Jackie Gorman joined Impact San Antonio this spring and got involved in the grant review process right away. Here’s what she has to say about being a member of our organization.
When and how did you first hear about Impact San Antonio?
I first heard about Impact San Antonio from (founding member) Rose Mary Fry, a colleague, in 2009 or 2010.
When and why did you decide to join?
I joined earlier this year when I decided to reallocate my charitable contributions. I have always been impressed with the impact of the organization, so I decided to add my resources to the pot.
What impresses/inspires you about Impact SA?
I am very impressed with the commitment of the members and the quality of the events. What we do as an organization made up of volunteers is astounding.
Have you taken part in any volunteer work for Impact SA?
Yes, I was on the grant applicant readiness review team. It was a great opportunity to understand the organization better.
What volunteer roles are you interested in taking on in the future?
I think I want to stay involved with the application review process.
What do you do for a living?
I am a senior director with the National Development Council. I lead a nationwide program to train and support BIPOC (black, indigenous people of color) real estate developers.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I am very happy I joined Impact SA. This is a wonderful group, and everyone has been very welcoming.
