I recently made a trip to Carmel with a friend, and it was an opportunity for us to go to a place we hadn’t seen before, catch up with each other, and recharge. We thoroughly enjoyed the 60-degree temperatures and took in the beautiful sights of the area, including the Lone Cypress – a cypress tree that has amazingly survived the elements for over 250 years. My friend noticed that there were cables helping to support the tree, and I jokingly responded, “You know, everyone needs a little support!”
The weekend reminded me that regardless of who we are and what our circumstances may be, we can all use — and be moved to give – a helpful hand. It can be as simple as a supportive smile or lending a friendly ear, and other times it may entail much more. As members of Impact San Antonio, some days we find ourselves on the giving end of that support, and other times we may be receiving it. The willingness to help one another through whatever we may be going through is an important attribute that makes this organization so great.
So, as we all make the last push to identify this year’s grant finalists, I hope you all appreciate that you are part of a group of amazing women dedicated to supporting our community and each other.
