You may have noticed that Impact San Antonio’s 2023 graphics theme includes a beautiful butterfly, providing a visual for the many transformations that Impact SA is a part of. Much like a butterfly, those involved with Impact SA frequently experience a sort of metamorphosis.
Recipients of Impact SA’s High Impact Grants are able to make significant transformations in the lives of their clients through their funded projects. And many see an increase in awareness of their agency and the services they provide.
We have also heard from agency applicants that going through Impact SA’s Agency Training and the grant process has helped them have a better understanding of how to complete grant applications, which has also helped them secure funding from other sources.
Even our members experience their own transformations:
- Being a member of Impact SA allows us all to be philanthropists.
- Participating on a grant review team or reviewing finalist project presentations allows us to learn more about the needs of the community and how better to serve it.
- Serving as an event volunteer, a committee member or on the board enables us to gain new experiences and skills.
On a personal level, serving as Impact SA’s president has helped me learn about this wonderful community, provided me with experiences I would have never imagined, and helped me build skills that I didn’t know I had.
I cannot wait to see what beautiful transformations we will see as we continue through the grant cycle!
