Lori Massey Brissette is on her second round of membership with Impact San Antonio, after moving away for work and returning to San Antonio.
When and how did you first hear about Impact San Antonio?
I was a prior member and even sponsored a member recruitment event with Annmarie Simonson. I first heard about Impact SA through Elizabeth Garrettson. I moved away for five years for work and came back to San Antonio in 2022.
When and why did you join?
I believe I first joined in 2015. I joined because I was impressed with the idea of pooling small donations to make a big impact. And, since joining, I have been impressed with the group’s focus on programs that will make just such an impact.
What impresses and inspires you about Impact SA?
I have been to several events this year and volunteered for set up at a couple. I am looking forward to being more involved going forward and I’m absolutely interested in the grant review committee.
What do/did you do for a living?
I have been an attorney for over 30 years and am a former Bexar County District Judge. I spent ten years in the corporate world as a senior executive at two Fortune 100 companies, most recently as CEO of Northwestern Mutual Investment Services. I retired in May of 2022 and came back to San Antonio to be with my family, including my first grandchild! I am now an arbitrator, private judge, and a mediator focused on civil and commercial matters and I am currently running for the Fourth Court of Appeals – a court with civil, criminal and family law jurisdiction over 32 counties.
