This grant will support the expansion of Ballet Folklórico programs in SAISD by funding contracted Teaching Artists, along with dresses and uniforms to support 800 students this year.
Ballet Folklórico allows under-resourced students in SAISD to engage in a co-curricular activity related to their cultural heritage, giving them the opportunity to spend time outside of school in a productive and safe environment, connect to the cultural identities that have been shaped by their family histories, and channel their passions to create beautiful art. Impact San Antonio funding is making this possible, inspiring students to pursue their creative interests through dance. “We appreciate the generosity of Impact San Antonio in helping us accomplish our goals related to expanding access to cultural arts.
