Karen Cannon

Karen served 23 years in the United States Air Force as a Personnel Officer. She served most of her time in Texas but also served in Panama, Florida and the Pentagon. She retired as a Lt Col in 1999. Her second career was in Human Resources with USAA (a financial services company focused on serving members of the military and their families). She worked for the head of HR and the USAA Board of Directors in an advisory capacity. She retired after 17 years and moved on to her third, and what she considers her favorite career of working with non-profits. Karen has served on several Boards (Blue Skies of Texas and the SA Cancer Council). She currently is on the Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA) Board. She volunteers with the USO at the airport location and has delivered Meals on Wheels. Karen is a graduate of the Masters Leadership Program class XIV.

Karen earned her BBA degree in Finance from James Madison University and a Masters in Public Administration from Troy State.

Karen has been a member of Impact San Antonio since 2016 and has served as an application reviewer, grant liaison and on many Grant Review Committees and served as a Co-Chair for last 4 years.

Karen and her husband Brian are avid golfers and enjoy taking golfing vacations.
