It was a confetti-filled, live-streamed Grant Award Night like no other we’ve ever held! We enthusiastically celebrated the power of women coming together with a common purpose to help our community! Our members voted in record numbers, allowing us to virtually award $490,000 in grants across our five focus areas.
Each agency made a compelling case for its grant proposal, and each is a bright spot of hope that will improve the quality of life of those they serve in our community.
For those of you who weren’t able to join our live broadcast where we awarded the grants, you can watch here. It was so energizing to see our 10 finalists’ reactions on Zoom as they learned who received the High Impact Grants and Support Grants. They all went home with funding commitments from Impact SA that will allow them to continue doing their great work.
In the weeks following our live broadcast, I had the pleasure of presenting ceremonial oversized checks to our High Impact Grant recipients at their facilities. Joining me were several members of our Impact San Antonio Board of Directors and members serving as agency liaisons.
We were greeted with such warmth and gratefulness, which we could see in their sparkling eyes! And we, in turn, were equally grateful to them for their tireless efforts each and every day to make a difference in the lives they touch directly. While we all wore masks and social distanced, we were able to experience the joy of these moments together.
As I reflect on this year, I am overwhelmed by the depth of caring and generosity from our members and sponsors that allowed us to continue our legacy of making transformational grants to worthy nonprofits.
I also want to thank our 23 members of the Impact SA Board of Directors, as well as our volunteers, who supported all aspects of our work. Without them, we would not have had the success we had this year.
As we approach this Thanksgiving Day holiday, I wish you all a safe and joyful season. Let’s remind ourselves about the power and joy that comes from joining together, both in our philanthropy, and in our lives.
Fond regards,
Jennifer Bennett, President Impact SA
