Impact San Antonio board member, Holly Ward, is always quick to engage with members and make them feel welcome and appreciated! As a previous dedicated volunteer, Holly was destined to join the board this year, and we are so grateful she did.
Why did you join Impact San Antonio? And why did you decide to join the Board??
I attended a luncheon in 2019 where an Impact San Antonio presentation was made to our group. I was very intrigued. I joined in 2020 and immediately immersed myself as part of a Grant Review team. It was impressive to me how quickly the organization transformed its procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant process didn’t miss a beat that year. That encouraged me to immerse myself more and I became a Liaison in 2021. I also volunteered at many events over the years so when a Co-Chair of Volunteers opportunity came up, I was excited to take on the Board role and join a team of very dedicated, motivated and fun ladies!
What impresses you most about Impact SA?
The Passion! Everyone I meet in Impact San Antonio is very passionate about our mission. Many members get emotional at our Impact in Action events when we showcase how our grant money has helped a non-profit agency in our community. As a member, it is a very rewarding experience to see that passion.
What do you/did you do for a living in San Antonio?
I have worked in sales and sales leadership roles during my career. I was a National Sales Manager with Hallmark and a Regional Territory Manager with a division of the BBC. Although I lived in San Antonio, the companies I worked for were not based in Texas, so I traveled a lot. I have been retired for several years.
