Thanks to the generosity of members and friends of Impact San Antonio, we will once again award five $100,000 High Impact Grants — one per focus area – this year. Meanwhile, the process of determining which applicants will become finalists is under way for the 2023 grant cycle.
This April, agencies wishing to apply for a grant submitted an organizational questionnaire which, together with agency financial information, was used to determine each applicant’s readiness to implement an Impact SA grant. Agencies that were determined to be ready and which met Impact SA’s grant criteria were then eligible to submit a project application. Around 90 project applications were submitted.
Member volunteer grant reviewers have just completed this year’s training and will soon be assigned to one of our five focus areas.
Each of those teams will be tasked with selecting which projects most deserve to move forward as finalists for their focus area. During the summer, grant reviewers follow an intensive process that includes multiple rounds of reviews as well as site visits to evaluate all the project proposals. By late August, each team will select two finalists in their focus area.
The 10 project finalists will be announced in September and will receive additional training on creating their recorded presentations for the Impact San Antonio membership. To determine which finalists will receive High Impact Grants, members will view these presentations online and cast their votes in the days leading up to Grant Award Night.
The Witte will once again be the venue for Grant Award Night on Monday, October 23. We hope you’ll join us, and maybe bring a friend or two!
