When and how did you first hear about Impact San Antonio?
My first encounter with Impact SA was at a NAWBO event during a conversation with Allison De Paoli. I had a client that was looking for a way to get involved in philanthropy in San Antonio, and this seemed to be a great way to do that. My client and I then attended a community membership event, and we both joined on the spot!
When and why did you join?
I joined in 2011 because I believed that women getting together to truly make an impact to a cause was just what we needed in San Antonio.
What impresses and inspires you about Impact SA?
Impact SA continues to make such a difference for the agencies in San Antonio. Of course, the ones who win the high impact grants get great exposure and funds, but those who receive the smaller grants also get exposure to many donors and benefit from the grant committees’ direction and expertise.
How have you been involved with Impact SA?
I have served on the board, been an Impact Plus member for many years, and my company has been a sponsor of Impact SA since I became a member. It’s so rewarding for me to see such a large group of sponsors we have today, especially when I remember a time when you could count the number of sponsors on one hand!
What do/did you do for a living?
I am the President of theKFORDgroup. We are a CPA firm that provides a full range of taxation and accounting services for business and families and assist with income tax and estate tax planning strategies. We also provide forensic accounting services and provide expert litigation testimony.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I tell all women who are looking for a great place to make a difference in San Antonio to join Impact SA and get involved. It will make a difference to the community, and as a member there are fabulous benefits as well!
