From My Heart to Yours

This is my last column as President of Impact San Antonio, a position I am honored to have held these past two years.  To be in the company of so many caring and generous women who share a goal of making our community better has been an incredibly meaningful experience.

My tenure was defined by COVID, but not limited by it.  Yes, we had to figure out how to operate in this most challenging environment.  Beginning with the continued support of our loyal members and sponsors, bolstered by the interest of more women in  joining Impact SA and guided by a deeply committed Board of Directors, we charted a successful path forward. In fact, we sustained our ability to award one high impact grant in each of our five focus areas.

Impact SA is an enduring force for creating brighter futures.  I am but one woman, in a long history of committed former presidents and their boards. For 17 years, we have been dedicated to building upon successes and improving the way we work each year to enable transformational impact for our community.

I am so grateful you entrusted me with the care and nurturing of this exceptional organization and for the support I have received in fulfilling our mission.  What we have accomplished was truly a team effort.

It’s now time to transition to our next president, Angelle St. Germain, who will carry the torch forward brilliantly.  Our organization is in very capable hands!

Let us all celebrate the power of women coming together to make a significant difference.  Let’s also recognize the incredible work our local nonprofits who have received our grants are doing.  They are the ones who deliver the impact we are all so passionate in creating.

I wish all of you much joy this holiday season and a happy new year!
