Grantmaking: The heart of what we do!

With our 2024 grant pool established at $530,000, we now turn our attention to the heart of what we do for our community – grant making.

Our grant review teams have begun the process of due diligence and discernment as they evaluate more than 85 nonprofit grant applications.

Each year, nonprofit organizations go through a rigorous evaluation process where our trained volunteers review each proposal to see if it:

  • Addresses a critical need
  • Improves the quality of life for people in our service area,
  • Benefits either a large population, or a smaller population in a major way
  • Results in an innovative approach to address a critical problem or expands on an already existing successful approach
  • Results in compelling and measurable outcomes

The integrity of Impact SA’s grant making process is exceptional. We have a well-established reputation for standards that are professional and extremely high. Our all-member volunteer grant reviewers have helped create this reputation. They have a hard job ahead, and often make decisions not between the good and the bad, but between the good and the even better.

Grantee agencies have often commented that Impact San Antonio is different in that we not only provide substantive grants; we also foster and promote the organization to be as successful as possible by giving the agencies training, support, and resources.

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary as a grant making organization, we remain committed to expanding philanthropy in San Antonio.

It is phenomenal to see women gravitate toward the connections made through membership and how it empowers them as donors and decision makers. The transformation for both members and agencies is rewarding to see as the work we are doing really improves lives in our community.

Enjoy your summer!

Yours in service,
