Get to Know Platinum Sponsor, PMI, and 3 Inspiring Impact SA Members.
“What drew us to sponsor the organization is the incredible reach Impact SA has across San Antonio, supporting the different focus areas and making a meaningful, tangible difference.”
How did you first hear about Impact San Antonio?
PMI Pipe, Steel & Supplies proudly supports Impact San Antonio both as a corporate sponsor and through the involvement of our team. Our President and CEO, Melanie Evans, was first introduced to the organization by Nicole Jackson of Rosenblatt Law Firm in 2022. Inspired by the mission and impact of the group, she soon invited our Controller, Christina Evers, and our COO, Billicarole Avbovbo, to attend events. Both were immediately drawn to the energy and purpose of Impact SA. Christina has now been a dedicated member for two years, and Billicarole joined as a member earlier this year. We’re honored to be part of a community that is making such a meaningful difference.
Why is Impact SA a good fit for Pipe Movers?
At Pipe Movers, part of our mission is “to make a positive contribution to our community,” which aligns perfectly with the mission of Impact San Antonio. What drew us to sponsor the organization is the incredible reach Impact SA has across San Antonio, supporting the different focus areas and making a meaningful, tangible difference. We’re proud to know our support contributes to such a diverse and impactful effort. Additionally, as a woman-owned business in a male-dominated industry, it’s also deeply inspiring to be part of a community of strong, passionate women who are dedicated to lifting others up.
What impresses you about Impact San Antonio?
What consistently impresses us about Impact San Antonio is its ability to bring together more than 500 women each year who are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. That level of engagement and generosity speaks volumes about the organization’s leadership. Every event hosted by Impact SA is thoughtfully planned, inspiring, and so welcoming that even non-members in attendance often feel compelled to join. The ability to consistently create experiences that move people and spark action is truly remarkable.
Tell us about your role at Pipe Movers. What do you enjoy about your work?
At Pipe Movers, our President and CEO, Melanie Evans, is very much what we call “in the trenches.” She’s in the office every day, working side-by-side with our team to continuously improve the business. With an open-door approach—literally and figuratively—she’s accessible to everyone, from senior management to the newest employees in the warehouse. What Melanie enjoys most about her role is knowing that the company supports over 75 families, and she is deeply committed to creating a workplace where employees feel valued and prioritized.
Our leadership team is a powerful reflection of our values and culture. Our COO, Billicarole—who also happens to be Melanie’s daughter—plays a pivotal role in keeping our operations running efficiently. She leads upper management meetings, spearheads our leadership trainee program, and is always pushing us to improve processes, ensure compliance, and drive innovation. Her dedication and forward-thinking mindset help steer us toward the future. Christina, our Controller, is the heart of our financial team. With over 20 years at Pipe Movers, she has grown through every role in our accounting department and now serves as a key member of our senior leadership team. Christina is truly a rock star—her deep institutional knowledge and problem-solving abilities are invaluable.
Both Billicarole and Christina share a passion for helping people and solving problems—qualities that help shape the supportive, solutions-focused environment we strive to maintain at Pipe Movers.
